Steve Biggs

Executive Vice-President

Steven E. Biggs was born in St. Louis, Mo. As a boy, although he lived in the city, he spent many happy days roaming the rural, mid-Missouri small towns and farmlands where his parents were raised and his grandparents lived.

After graduating from Pattonville High School, Steve earned a bachelor’s degree in international studies at Emory University in Atlanta, Ga. As an undergraduate, Steve also served as a foreign exchange student. He went on to earn a master’s degree in public policy administration at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

Steve and his wife, Vicki, have two daughters, Loire and Abby, one son-in-law, Michael, and one grandson. Steve is recently retired from a career in the brokerage investments and financial services field. In addition to his volunteer roles with SAR, Steve treasures spending time with his family and visiting the family farm.

Soon after joining SAR, Steve became active in the Color Guard. Then he was elected secretary of his local chapter, the Spirit of St. Louis chapter, for two years. He went on to serve the chapter as president for two years.

Steve’s service at the state level is extensive. He served as the registrar for three years, as the second vice president and as first vice president. He is currently serving as the executive vice president. Also, Steve has chaired the planning committee for the annual Battle of Fort San Carlos commemoration in Ste. Genevieve, Mo., since 2024.

Steve is grateful to his late mother for, among many things, her passion for genealogical research, which resulted in identifying 26 Revolutionary War patriots from which he is descended. His original patriot, William Anton Halbert, was a second lieutenant in Lee’s Virginia Legion.

Steve recently authored his first book, “Show Me Grit,” a collection of stories told in first person about six Missouri patriots who overcome odds in the face of great adversity. He is now researching his second book.

His wife, Vicki, is an active member of the MOSSAR Ladies Auxiliary and she currently serves as vice president of that organization.
