George Washington Endowment Fund

The George Washington Endowment Fund (GWEF) was established in 1993 by the NSSAR Executive Committee. The fund was created to establish a permanent restricted fund which would provide annual funding support for NSSAR unfunded and underfunded committees and special projects. The fund is managed by a GWEF Board with responsibility for oversight of all aspects of the fund.

The fund has been used to support a number of projects nationwide to include:

  • Ste. Genevieve Roadside Marker
  • Ste. Genevieve Memorial Cemetery Plaque
  • SAR President Generals Wall
  • Rumbaugh Orations Project

You do not need to be a member of SAR in order become a George Washington Fellow. Spouses, children, grandchildren, nephews, and nieces are all eligible. All new George Washington Fellows receive beautiful lapel pin and a certificate acknowledging their status as a George Washington Fellow. Their name is also added to the list of all GW Fellows at the NSSAR library.

Donations of $1000 or more entitle you to be known as a George Washington Fellow. You can either make a lump sum payment or break your payment into smaller payments, to be paid within five years. Please use the below brochure to pledge your donation.
