State Theme:
“Treasuring the Terrific Turtles of Missouri“

The State Presidents’ Project was to raise funds to donate to the Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation for the conservation of four turtles: the Western Chicken Turtle, the Yellow Mud Turtle, the Blanding’s Turtle, and finally, the Alligator Snapping Turtle. Three of these are endangered in Missouri, and one is imperiled. Three are also under consideration for federal listing.

“Feeding Fisher’s Families“

The Fisher House Foundation provides a home away from home for Veterans and their families while they are receiving treatment at VA Hospitals. Sadly, due to the pandemic, they had not had nearly the same number of donations as normal. Their greatest hardship is food costs. Through this project, M.S.S.C.A.R. helped to provide families the same level of care that they are used to at Fisher House.

“Veterans Memorial“

The President’s State Project included raising funds to help the Veterans Memorial Museum and helping them to collect Vietnam War artifacts to put into the museum displays,

“Operation Gratitude“

The State President’s Project was to raise funds for Operation Gratitude. Operation Gratitude is a 501 (c) (3), volunteer-based organization that sends care packages and letters of support to individual United States Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines deployed overseas in harm’s way, to their children left behind, and to First Responders, Veterans, New Recruits, Military Families, Wounded Heroes and their caregivers. Operation Gratitude’s mission is to lift morale in the Military and First Responder communities and to provide every American an opportunity to say “Thank You.”

“Little Patriot Embraced“

State President’s Project was to raise funds to help Little Patriots Embraced, an organization that provides aid to military children as their parents or loved ones are deployed into the U.S. military. Their mission is “to enhance the lives of our Military Families in need … while their loved one is protecting our freedom.”

“Honoring Heartland Heroes through Honor Flight“

The State Presidents’ Project was to support the Honor Flights. Honor Flight’s mission is to get veterans, to Washington, D.C. to see their memorials. The organization is dedicated to providing veterans with honor and closure. By the time their memorials were complete, most WWII veterans no longer had the means and ability to get themselves to D.C. to see their memorials. Our goal is to help Honor Flight complete their mission.

State Theme:
“Paws for Patriots“
M.S.S.C.A.R. worked with the “Missouri Patriot Paws”, a non-profit organization which rescues dogs from shelters and trains them to be service dogs for veterans. The State President’s Project raised funds to purchase one or more service dogs for veterans. These veterans are patriots and these service dogs can help them in untold ways as they re-enter society and strive to meet the challenges they will face.

“Riding into Missouri’s Past“

The President’s State Project was to acknowledge the history of Blackwater, Missouri, where frontier roots become present-day. Blackwater reenacts the Wild West of the 1880’s, and the Children of the American Revolution was founded in 1895. The C.A.R. State Project will benefited the historical preservation of this small Missouri town. The goal was to help in the restoration of the 1880’s caboose. It is important to not only remember history, but also to celebrate it!

The President’s State Project was to let the good times roll as members learned about Missouri’s French Colonial history and support the new heritage education classroom at the Felix Valle State Historic Site.

Shannon’s State President Project was to raise funds for the LaBarque Creek Watershed Conservation Project.

“WANTED: A Cure for Autism’s Puzzle.“

Brian raised funds which were donated to Autsism Speaks and scholarship for his State President’ Project. Brian was recognized with a Gold Award – State Presidents Guidelines Winner by the National Society Children of the American Revolution; one of only nine in the nation.

State Theme:
“C.A.R.I.N.G for Fisher House Kids!“
Ciara raised $4974 to donate to the Fisher House St. Louis and an additional $1512 was donated to the scholarship fund, collected over 600 books and a variety of games/toys for her State President’s Project. Ciara was recognized with a Gold Award – State Presidents Guidelines Winner by National Society Children of the American Revolution; one of only 19 in the nation!

“Help Keep the Kicks in Missouri’s 66“
The President’s State Project was to raise funds for the Route 66 Museum and Research Center in Lebanon, Missouri. The collection includes thousands of Route 66 books, magazines and videos. The State Project donation enabled the museum to purchase display case labels and free-standing, indoor signage.

“Share the Power of a Wish“
The President’s State Project was to raise funds for a 17 year old suffering from Friedrich’s Ataxia, an inherit diease that affects the nervous system. Her “Wish” was to go to Chicago with her mother and her best friend.
M.S.S.C.A.R. contributed funds to Make-A-Wish Foundation to help Brittany’s wish come true. Liadan was recognized with a Gold Award – State Presidents Guidelines Winner by the National Society Children of the American Revolution; one of only 10 in the nation!

“Katy “Trails” Lewis & Clark“
Katy’s State President Project was to raise funds to purchase a park bench for the new Katy Trail State Park extension North East of St. Charles, along the Missouri River.

“Honor the Corps of Discovery“
Samantha raised funds toward the Lewis & Clark Statue in commemoration of Lewis Clark and other members of the Corps of Discovery. Samantha was recognized with a Gold Award – State Presidents Guidelines Winner by the National Society Children of the American Revolution.

“Retracing our Footsteps in Missouri“
The 2003-2004 M.S.S.C.A.R. President’s State Project purchased one of thirty-one interpretive granite markers in the walkway leading to the Visitor Center. These markers commemorate the 31 significant historical events leading up to and following the Battle of Wilson’s Creek.
