The 40^th Annual George Washington Birthday Celebration is hosted by Kansas City area chapters of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) in conjunction with the Kansas City area chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). We gather annually in honor of and to show our admiration of the foremost military leader of the American Revolution, General George Washington.

Come join us as we host the 296^th anniversary of this great man’s birthday on 22 February, 1731.

We invite one and all to feast with us and learn something you might not have known about the man who would become our very first and second President.

He led a talented team of wise men in their day, to chart a course that would set our nation on a historic trajectory of innovation, development, peace and prosperity.

Come early and look over the many silent auction items we have assembled for your pleasure. Bid once or twice, on one or more items that span the ages from Colonial Times to today.

During the Program, you will enjoy a delectable luncheon served by The Hereford House of Independence, make new friends and reminisce with old friends. We’re a friendly bunch and will not only take time to honor President Washington, but we’ll hear from a distinguished keynote speaker travelling all the way from South Carolina, T. Brooks Lyles. His biography is on the Speakers page, but you should know that Brooks  is a long time member and Compatriot of SAR, having served as President at the nearby Henry Leavenworth Chapter of SAR and more recently led the Kansas State Society of SAR as its President.

Additionally, we will recognize a local citizen for his/her unselfish service to save injured and fallen citizens.

The Presidents of both the Missouri State Society of the Children of the American Revolution and the Kansas Society of the Children of the American Revolution, will be recognized for their presidential projects.
