On 20 April 2023, our chapter presented the SAR’s Life Saving Award to three of Cape Girardeau’s finest policemen. At noon at 2530 Maria Louise Ln., Police Headquarters, we will be presenting to Corporal Larry “Will” Rogers, Patrolman Brian McCain, and Patrolman Joel Koesterer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We marked the grave of Revolutionary Patriot and soldier William R. Brown in the Roth Cemetery on 27 May 2023. The video of this ceremony, taken and produced by Michael Toeniskoetter, is on our Home page on this website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our chapter participated in the Olde Capetown “Parade of Lights” on Nov 26 of 2023. Our float depicted Rev Soldiers around a campfire with festive lights and artificial flames.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u200bOn May 25th 2025 MOSSAR 2nd Vice President and current Allen Laws Oliver Chapter President Matthew Toeniskoetter will be assisting with the Battle of Fort San Carlos festivities and Patriot Grave Marking Ceremony in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
So far this year, we have held our annual 5K Run on the weekend before President’s Day. Plans are on going for the next grave marking in Bollinger County. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
We will help celebrate Cape Girardeau’ Heritage Day event May 2026, at the Red House in Cape Girardeau. We will fly all 27 versions of the US Flag amid all the festivities such as Pioneer demos, mule jumping, and other attractions. Tours of the interpretive center of the Red House, which dates back to the days when Cape was just a Trading Post, was widely enjoyed by a record number of participant and history buffs.
